Change Communications Method in Verifone VX520

Integrated Payments no long supports dial-up communications, please follow the below instructions to change the communications method in the terminal from dial mode to CommServer (Ethernet).

Please note that the terminal must be connected to an ethernet cable and connected to the internet going forward.

Full Download

A Full Download consists of installing a new application. This download will clear the terminal’s memory. It is recommended that any open transactions are settled prior to starting any downloads. Please ensure that you allow ample time to complete the full download as the terminal will not be able to process payments until the load has completed. Average download timeframes are included at the beginning of the instructions.

How to identify your terminal model

VeriFone Vx520:



  • Just above the upper right hand corner of the screen is the model number Vx520
  • If the terminal has 4 LED’s at the top of the unit then the terminal has contactless communications (for Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc)

Ingenico iCT220/iCT250:



  • Just below the screen located in the middle is the model number iCT220 or iCT 250

Full Download – VX520 Application Upgrade

An application upgrade occurs when you take a terminal with an existing Worldpay application and replace that application with a newer version. Since a previous full download has been performed the Verifone terminal should retain the download parameter configuration. In most cases, this will eliminate the configuration steps from the process. You will need to ensure the terminal file has been upgraded at the host (Worldpay Download Server) before proceeding.

Partial Download – VX520 Application Update

This is useful when an application update is needed to update an existing Worldpay application and replace that application with a newer version. Verifone VX and E Series Terminals Reboot Loop

These are the full download instructions if you are currently experiencing a reboot issue loop with your Verifone VX or E Series terminal. Verifone has verified that there is a current issue occurring and that you need to complete this download to correct the issue.
